What is the difference between a normal battery and a chimney pipe?

I'm looking for a Peavey Windsor Tube 4000. every1 until I have spoken TUBE says with GO but have no idea what is the difference. now I have a behringer vtone 212 and havnt had a problem. I play a Schecter and has a Line 6 POD pedal and not I spend all this money and have my computer sound horrible

You should get a tube amp, because you get a warmer tone or sound distortion different (when played loud) of an amplifier. The other modeling amps are amplifiers which means it tries to reproduce the sound of a tube or pedal. Amplifiers modeling gives you more effects, but the tube gives much better tone. Get the real thing is not a replica.
