brake is soft now. what is the cause?

just change the tires on my 92 celica gt and was doing well. then once when I was driving the brake paddle down easily and I had to press hard on the brake to stop the car. is a full stop, but still feels soft. proved to generate pressure and everything, but that dosent help. when the car is outside it works fine. i start the car after the brake becomes soft. help. "I can top off brake fluid.
