"I can mount a scope on my Remington Mosin Nagant?

I have a Remington Mosin Nagant and I'm trying to set up an area to be used for hunting. Is it possible? If so, where I can buy the Mountains Rail for it? I can do to buy the removal of the rear sight?? A dealer told me that the only way I could do is buy to replace the latch assembly because it goes straight up and straight down. Is this true? or is there a way around it?
