Bellows Beach Park is one of the guarded beaches of Oahu. Located on the coast of Bellows Field Air Force Base between Waimalu Inoaole and Streams in windward Oahu. Bellows Beach is owned by the Air Force, and is even used for military training. Since 1964, however, has been opened to civilians weekends and holidays. During weekdays, the beach can only be accessed by those with military identification.

Bellows Beach is a long, wide strip of fine sand beach is perfect for walking, sunbathing or watching the beautiful Koolau Mountains. The white sandy shore is a clear, blue ocean water, a function Bellows Beach is known. shallow sandbar from the beach and small cracks on the ground provide the ideal wave conditions for swimming, and body surfers and board early. The surf and boogie, by contrast, is allowed in areas outside the perimeter of the two lifeguard towers only.

Coastal strip are also rows of trees ironwood providing an ideal shadow for a day at the beach. Beware Ironwood cones which litter the ground when, as they can be painful.

But if there is something that can really ruin your day at the beach, is when you are bitten by a Portuguese war (stinging blue jellyfish). As its name implies, this jellyfish has a blue skin, making it hard to detect when present in sea water. The Portuguese of war is often brought on by the trade winds of the surrounding strong ocean. If there are signs of lifeguards, stay out of the water, jellyfish can be fatal. If you are bitten by a man of war, see a lifeguard for medical aid.

If you want to spend a night in the beach, to obtain a camping permit from the city of Honolulu. Bellows has a large campground, has about 50 camping. For those in the military, there are cabins for you, but you need to make reservations early as it can fill quite quickly.
