The colloidal silver facts abound, but misinformation about colloidal silver facts is also plentiful. Our purpose here is to provide three colloidal silver facts, coupled with warnings.

Products sold under the general label "colloidal silver" may actually be any of three different products:

– Ionic silver
– Protein silver
– True Colloidal Silver

Colloidal Silver Information – Silver ion

Most products labeled and sold as colloidal silver, unfortunately, ionic silver. This is because it is much easier and less expensive to produce this type of silver products. Among misrepresented colloidal silver facts, this is perhaps the most common.

Ionic products silver ions are composed of silver and silver particles. Through electrolysis, the manufacturer produces silver ions. Silver ions are really dissolved silver. Since most of silver (about 90%) in ionic silver products is dissolved silver instead of silver particles, these are really solutions of silver.

These products are often advertised as containing silver ions are silver particles. This is confusing, however, since silver ions are different from the silver particles.

The silver ions combine with chloride ions to form silver chloride, silver particles, but do not.

Some manufacturers hide the identity of the ionic silver behind terms such as monatomic silver and silver hydrosol. These names are used to hide the truth from you. You'll find a solution ionic silver, not colloidal silver.

Do not be fooled.

If the product is clear, like water with sugar dissolved in it is ionic silver, not colloidal silver. Colloidal silver is light in color. This is a colloidal silver fact.

How to prove it.

Add table salt to the product. If the silver ions are present, the solution should turn cloudy. If it is clear, however, may simply mean the money is not present at all. Unfortunately, Laboratory analysis has shown that some "silver" products contain no silver.

Colloidal Silver Information – Silver Proteins

The protein products of silver, colloidal silver, though often called, are nothing more than silver particles combined with protein. It can easily and inexpensively. Only need to add water to silver protein powder. The powder is sold by many chemical companies. This is the second more commonly understood facts of colloidal silver.

If the colloidal silver product you are considering is intended to be a high concentration of silver Colloidal silver protein is very likely. The silver protein products usually have large silver particle size. That can not be suspended unless protein was added. Protein helps keep particles of the solution.

What type of protein is used? Generally, it is gelatin made from animals. The risk of bacteria from the gelatin is one of the dangers of taking silver protein products.

Do not be fooled.

Silver protein products are less effective for human use. In addition, silver protein products are known to cause Argyria – bluish skin tone. The condition should be to the high concentration of large silver particles. This is a colloidal silver fact.

How to prove it.

Shake the product. If foam on the liquid and remains a few minutes, you probably do not have a colloidal silver product.

Colloidal Silver Facts – True Colloidal Silver

These products are the hardest to find, but are the products you if you want to use colloidal silver. True colloidal silver products present both difficulties and high cost for the manufacturer. Those who wish to be misinterpreted this colloidal silver fact want to make money with inferior products.

A colloid is a mixture of particles of a substance dispersed throughout another substance, that are too small to be seen with a normal light microscope, but can not pass through a semipermeable membrane.

When referring to colloidal silver, the word means that the colloidal silver particles. True colloidal silver contains mostly particles of silver. True colloidal silver particles usually contain silver 50 to 80%. The rest is silver ions.

True colloidal silver products has the largest total area of all particles as a whole. This is important. High surface determines the effectiveness of colloidal silver is. The extremely small particles in true silver colloids, with its large surface area, remain colloidal suspension of your account. No need to add protein or other substances.

Not deceived.

True silver colloids do not cause Argyria, the condition causes the skin to turn blue-gray. Their freedom of this condition is due to the low amount of ionic silver and small particle size silver. This is a colloidal silver fact.

How to prove it.

Find an apparent color. Add the salt, as described above in "silver ion. "Shake as described in" Silver Protein. "true colloidal silver should pass all three tests.
