I have pain in my knee. What exercises can I do to strengthen it?

A few years ago I was on my trampoline (which i dont have now) and I fell on my knee. my knee was my coat and cracked cartilage. I went to the doctor and said the only way to repair his knee surgery and do not want that, because I can say that they have to take small parts of the knee and to screw them. But what I want to know is what exercise (s) could do to strengthen muscles around the knees. any help is appreciated thanks.

Yes, I have something screwed with my knee, as the lid is in tip and sticking in my biased or SUMTHING as not entirely sure, but I've gone to a specailst and told me that either sit on a table and move the bag with cans in it and move up and down stretches UR leg, bending the legs and thigh muscles stregthin my hope that helps U
