Research In Motion is doomed to failure?

Research In Motion is doomed to failure? As with all holy wars, there are always two sides to fight. Christians against Muslims in the Crusades. Catholics against Protestants in Ireland. Windows vs Mac all over the world. Ford vs Holden (if you're from Australia:). And, of course, BlackBerry vs. iPhone. And, as anyone with expertise in a particular area, I am constantly getting asked "What should I get? A BlackBerry or a iPhone? ". Personally, I'm pretty agnostic IT device. If all you've used is a hammer, then it feels like the right tool for the work and each job starts looking like a nail. And that's why I try to spend a decent amount of time on each device before making a personal decision. If I will be in contract with a telecommunications company (another bad) for a minimum of 24 months later I want to make sure the device you choose will fit what we need today, and be able to add features as you need in the future. In my 23-ish years of being in the IT industry I have learned one thing: there is no device that does everything required for each person each time. This is especially true in the PDA / Smartphone space. Ask not for whom the bell tolls, RIM. It tolls for thee. The death sentence has been beaten. And unless some dramatic changes RIM makes the BlackBerry is going to be relegated to "also ran" device. There are five areas that Research In Motion needs to address quickly before completely losing the battle to Apple. Ask almost any random Joe or Josephine in the IT sector this question: "Who is Steve Jobs? "And you're almost guaranteed worldwide 100% correct responses. Depending on which side of the Holy War I ask, you might also get a mixture of "savior", "miracle worker", "Satan in the flesh", or "the personification of evil." Now, ask the same sample of people, "Jim Balsillie What to do?" and above all you will get blank stares outside the U.S. and Canada. You're probably going to get an ear full of supporters of American hockey, on the attempt to Jim to take over the Phoenix Coyotes. RIM needs a public face, images to connect. A very quick search on Google does not seem to show any international tour stop reported by any of the top dogs of RIM, Jim Balsillie, or Mike Lazaridis, nor any such information in the news from RIM or news pages. Either Jim and Mike are afraid of flying, or their feet nailed to the floor. Or only a lack of respect for the international market. In fact, I am inclined to believe that it is this last factor, lack of respect for the international market, is the basic cultural issue RIM needs to address. On April 1, nearly 5 months, the BlackBerry World was released to the world of BlackBerry users. Well, no, not really. Only if you are lucky to live in the U.S., Canada and the United Kingdom. The App "world" has recently been extended to some more European countries but still no joy for everyone who lives in the southern hemisphere. Perhaps the world should have been the application application name in the Northern Hemisphere .. or Nemesis application. Even Apple, and launched the App Store in all countries where the iPhone was released. The World of the application should have been the great opportunity to unify the sales or distribution of BlackBerry applications, but no. World App should have brought the BlackBerry on equal terms for the comparison of consumers between the iPhone and BlackBerry, and provide a professionally managed repostiry. As it stands, I have to look for new programs through Google or Part Three, many blogging sites. Ridiculous. Come on RIM! App Launch World BlackBerry wherever you sell. Do it now. Or close it completely. And check out the application seriously development tools for the BlackBerry while on it. The iPhone's desktop management is another area that RIM really needs to learn a lesson from Apple. I'm not a fan of iTunes, no attempt to indicate the subterfuge Safari as a mandatory update. However, iTunes, either on PC or Mac, works the same. You can integrate syncing music, photos, applications, whatever, and no trial is implicit in the desktop operating system of your choice. There is a Mac version, is a PC version. Oh, and there are even versions of your favorite open source Linux derivative. But what operating system you have to use to update a BlackBerry. Windows. And even with the latest software update tools, which browser you use? Internet Explorer on Windows. Come on RIM. If you even had half of a grain of salt of wisdom is worth here, have written the last update tool for Firefox, which runs on at least Windows, Mac and Linux. I had not heard that Canada was the country of Windows. And while you're in the mode of decision making, and you realize what the going to sell products. From Apple, the iPhone theres either 3G or 3G. They look the same, work the same, run the same software, adapters have the same entry. RIM BlackBerry sells four styles – full keyboard, reduced keyboard, no keyboard, and flipphone. Oh, and software for the Storm (no keyboard) is not easily run into something else. Oh, and just change the adapter to the new "standard." And the characteristics of each new BlackBerry seem depend on the phase of the moon, the availability of the Vestal Virgins, cubes of goat blood, red candles, and an individual silver bell. Why, oh why, RIM, not all current devices have 3G? Wi-fi? GPS? External SD card slot? Flash on the camera? I can understand the desire to have different products for different markets, but there are certain things that should be standard on and left ALONE! You're just making it harder for teams of internal development systems. Choose a set of standard features, and stick with it. If it is difficult for me to recommend for BlackBerry, then it must be almost impossible for Telco's that sell them. Recently, a telecommunications company in Australia had a print ad in a major newspaper of BlackBerry, and the specs were wrong (no, the storm does not have WiFi, you know who you are, my favorite Telco!) It is perhaps the lack of clarity in the direction of the latter product that causes issue – a lack of innovation. I mean, how easy is to come up with new features when the target platform is changing? I found an old BlackBerry 7-series out there. After managing to find yet a third variant of USB cable and charge up, behold, the operating system version 3.x and the interface was almost identical to that of my Bold running the latest O / S. I guess there's that old adage "If it is not broke do not fix it" but that old adage is just that: old. There are many areas where time has been reached and breached the BlackBerry, and shows its age. Surf the Web on a BlackBerry is about as pleasant as giving yourself Papercut and submerging one in lemon juice and salt. Compare this experience to the native web browser on an iPhone, or even a Windows Mobile device, and the experience is very different. The email is HTML, I can not another area where time weary BlackBerry – even if he Hardset the BlackBerry to download the images based E-mail. I do not mean to limit the size of attachments – If I download the attachment then let me download. Streaming media, its time to get there. AJAX and Web 2.0 – is no longer cutting edge. So, how long can Research In Motion continue to serve more cans of Who-hash? Yesterday, the software will not cut into the workplace of tomorrow. Hey, it's just cutting today. Benjamin & Sheridan Repair Kit, Fits Some Pre-1995 Multi-Pump Guns w/Soldered Valve

Benjamin & Sheridan Repair Kit, Fits Some Pre-1995 Multi-Pump Guns w/Soldered Valve

$33.54

Repair kit fits these multi-pump guns made before 1995 (they have a soldered valve): Benjamin 397, 392, 340, 342 & 347 guns as well as Sheridan C9 (Silver Streak) & CB9 (Blue Streak). To determine if this kit is for you: Remove the screw in front of triggerguard to remove rear part of the stock Remove the pins or screws that hold the retention cap at the rear of the receiver Remove the guide pin, spring & hammer to reveal the compression tube If the compression tube appears to be brass & is one piece with a pin protruding from it, you’ll need the other kit (CR/RepairKitC9) instead of this one If your gun has a rounded square hole with a valve stem sticking up through it, then the kit shown on this page will fit your gun. The included valve tool (pictured on this page) is needed to remove the parts from the soldered valve body (directions included with kit). If you need assistance or would like Pyramyd Air’s techs to do the installation, contact our technicians at 888-262-4867, ext. 244 This kit includes parts that are still available from Crosman and may require slight modification. If your gun is very old and has been treated with any petroleum distillates and/or solvents that damage rubber seals, the removal of the old parts can be challenging. The obsolete gasket that seals the valve guide to the compression tube can normally be reused. If you used petroleum products, it may be irreparably damaged and will need to be replaced by a thin o-ring. If you would like Pyramyd Air’s tech department to install this kit in your Sheridan or Benjamin rifle, please contact them at 888-262-4867, ext. 5. There will be an additional cost for the installation service, plus shipping both ways…BUT it’ll be done perfectly!
