Curing the Twentysomething Blues, Part 4

Most people at 20Â ™ € s experience a season at some point. Call you like the blues, depression, or lack of motivation, many go for it. Itâ € ™ sa confusing time. How to heal the sadness in his twenties? This series of articles has been to address this question.

A number of changes can be made to work blues from us and get us back on the winning side. The Change is often perceived as something that is difficult to achieve, but doesn € ™ t have to be if we divide it into small tasks easily done. Change actually happens on many different levels: the environment level, the level of behavior, the capacity level, the level of belief, and the level of identity. Think of these levels in five concentric circles. The change happens more easily in the outermost circle, the level of the environment, and requires a little more effort as move into the nucleus, the level of identity. In this article, the fourth in our series, this is the level of belief.

Our belief system is which is the world inside our heads and determines how we react to the world around us. Beliefs are empowering or disempowering. Because this is very important that we pay attention to the care and feeding of our beliefs. Most of our beliefs that we receive from those around us. Our parents, siblings, peers, coworkers and help form our beliefs. More importantly, continue to be modified as time passes.

We live in a world that is constantly trying to get down. We have been told repeatedly what we can and cane € ™ t do. Many of these constraints on a belief in our mind about our capabilities. Society as a whole is that we follow a certain pattern and the pattern can be very limiting.

Do you ever find yourself involved in a negative thought? This often leads to the blues. Negative thoughts and doubt is so common at this stage of life. What we need are some strategies to help to us out of our negative thinking and something a little more positive. There are three steps we can take.

First, we must be aware of how deep is the problem. Many of us walk around all day without realizing that we are constantly negative reciting a mantra in our heads. These self-limiting become beliefs that disempower us. Therefore, be aware of what you are thinking of his day. Take note of the number of times and the type of negative statements that you are doing to yourself. Do you start with that first thing in the morning? Is it only happen when you are around certain people, or do certain things? Be aware of how deep is the problem, one third of the way to change this habit.

The next step is to call it what it is, a negative thought. Thata € ™ s all. It has no power in himself to do anything for you. Itâ € ™ s if you choose to believe or not thata € ™ s important. Is it true? If itâ € ™ s true (and rarely is) we can do something about it that is no longer true? If itâ € ™ s not Indeed, we have to take the next step.

The third step is to replace with its corresponding specific and positive thinking. Negative thoughts are usually general â € "thoughts like, â € IAEA € ™ m € not â € OEI good.â could never do that. € and â € OEI always fail in everything we do.â € The words like always and never are generalizations that tend to make the declaration of false negatives.

The key in the substitution process is to make specific positive statement. This is lodged in the brain better and longer than a positive statement in general. Thus that instead of replacing IAEA to € € ™ m no good, â € â € with IAEA € ™ m good, â € replace as a specific, IAEA € â € ™ m really good at making new € friends.â As positive statement is true (that donâ ™ € t want to lie to ourselves), this will attach itself to our thinking much faster than a generalization of others.

Do this with every negative thought that identifying all day. Note the specific corresponding positive thought. If you do this for a week ending with a list of positive statements about who you are and what they can. Say to yourself every morning sharp at noon, and night. Within days of this practice, these statements will become part of their belief system and put in on the winning side of life.
