The role of Ghillie Suit Paintball Injury Prevention

Paintball can be a very painful experience, especially for those inclined to ignore prescribed safety rules and common sense. It is also painful for those too old to bend as easily as they did before, but injuries should fall into the "lack of common sense" category.

It appears from my research that a lot of injuries are minor and can be considered as part of the game. The injuries I address here are the most serious and preventable. All injuries are preventable, but too far you lose the spirit of the game. I think Ironically, the most serious injuries are the easiest to avoid.

The most common injury by far, are the eye injuries. That says a lot about intelligence and / or maturity of paintball enthusiasts. The simple to use the mask immediately takes this injury outside the field. Play in monitoring the mask is required, but not all play is supervised and participants are obviously not going to be the most responsible. Although these injuries are preventable, it is my opinion you'll always have them. Persons wishing to avoid injury should simply avoid unsupervised areas. I would point out that players with Ghillie suits have an extra measure of protection against eye injuries, especially if your application has a hood as any Paintball Ghillie should.

The lesion most common is being hit by buckshot in the gonads or groin. This is a serious injury Paintballers only because most are young and have years of childbearing ahead of them. Some of these genital lesions have indeed left the victim permanently disabled. Again, all these injuries are preventable through the simple expedient of using a cup. Think of it as a mask for the balls. Of course, this injury is serious only to the injured party, while that for some reason never understand, the rest of the world believes it is hilarious. I do not think this injury is under no control, so it is in your envelope protect your valuables. Again, some measure of protection is available through the use of Ghillie Suit. Very often Paintballers in Ghillie suits are beaten repeatedly and not even feel.

I mention this last danger only by the severity of injuries. Deaths have been recorded as a result of cartridges CO2 street. This is entirely preventable. The cartridge valve must turn with the boat. While taking note of this fact can be fatal. In this particular circumstance can not imagine a Ghillie Suit provide any advantage.
