Swichblades against Assisted Knives

Knives assistance, although apparently the same, are actually quite different.

A leaf switch (also known as a switchblade) is the family of knives with a blade sliding or folding that is released mechanically by spring or centrifugal force when you press a lever on the handle. Popularized by movies in the fifties as The Wild One and Rebel Without a Cause switch blades were banned soon after by U.S. government in 1958. Today, automatic knives are limited only to military or law enforcement use in most places.

Said this, while knives are illegal to wear in public, the assistance knife is perfectly legal for take every day in almost every state. While the legal situation is the most obvious difference between automatic and assisted knives, which differ in some other ways.

First, a switch blade knife can fall into one of two categories, there are out the opening at the top or side. One side of the road opens automatically when the owner presses a button on the handle, a knife while the top has a button on the side of the handle that releases the blade. A knife in the front usually has a blade that is sharpened on all sides so that its primary use as a dagger.

With a razor blade is held by a lock and unfolds automatically when you press the trigger mechanism. Assisted Knives, however, are legal, safe and highly recommended for everyday wear and defensive use.
